Heya! Again apologies for the wait in the midst of uploads. Ill give the main reason why its taking so long.

How Night Owl vids are done are by mixing a blend of 2D and 3D animation (mostly 2D). In which I draw 2D animated assets and place them in 3D environments (examples of this are found in past vids).

In other words a format was made in which I animated presets from different angles. (Examples are seen here).

However while I like this format, given enough time I believe it will grow stale (since the same presets and animations are used over and over). Additionally another issue comes up.

I want to upload more frequently, and scripted vids take quite the long time to produce.

To address this, I am developing a new animation format that will act as a companion piece to the former preset. This format will be used for unscripted vids. This new format is drawn in a different style, here are some examples.

(Keep in mind this is still work in progress, I need to clean up these designs a bit).

Good news, im almost done animating these presets.

In fact I believe I can start uploading within the month.

So Im glad to be back working on stuff.

First off I wanted to apologize for the lack of uploads when I said before I would be more consistent.

Recently I had final exams to worry about which kept me away from uploading. However, that is now over and I have pretty much the entire summer to work on content.

In fact I am right on work with the next batch of vids, including a new format for unscripted videos.

Here is a work in progress snapshot.

Pretty excited to actually go all out on this.

Also plan to be more active over on the Twitters, feel free to follow me up on there.

First off I apologize for the ridiculous gap in time since the last upload.

I just wanted to take some time to give an update on future projects.

I appreciate the critiques on the vids thus far. Personally I would like to upload more frequently, problem is that the scripted videos take a very long time to put out (research and all). So I plan to experiment with something.

I will still continue to do long form content. I will still do Cryptocurrency part 2 along with the next topic regarding the situation concerning Venezuela. However these scripted videos will be accompanied with unscripted videos concerning more contemporary news items.

In fact I plan to have one out relatively soon. Feel free to tell me if you like that format or not once it comes out. I really want to be more active on uploads.

Its Andy again, working on a new animation for an upcoming vid (here is what I have so far, a bit rough but will cleant it a bit for the final release).

I wanted to take sometime to get some input from you guys. Saw the reviews from the last vid along with taking some criticisms on it.

One critique I found interesting was producing shorter vids. Rewatching the first vid made me realize that it could have been allot shorter and more concise. I was wondering whether or not it will be a good idea that instead of producing a 20+ min vid, that I can dish out 10-12 min vids. Theoretically it would be easier on me, but not sure if that is a good thing. Feel free to post thoughts.

Heya! I am relatively new to Newgrounds and thought I'd take some time here to talk about what exactly is Night Owl.

Before anything my name is Andy, nice to meet you.

Night Owl is a 2D animated talk showish series analyzing topics in both politics and economics. My main source of inspiration for the animation and concept of Night Owl is both Gennedy Tartavosky's Samurai Jack and Adult Swim's Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

The Night Owl character in particular is derivative of both the charcter Aku (from Samurai Jack) and my personal love for Owls.

The animation process combines both 2D and 3D elements (inspired by watching Gumball).

So basically I went into Source Filmmaker and to create a 3D studio. Using loads of blue screens for the windows and computer monitors.

Then I went into Krita and begun the 2D animation that will be used in conjunction with the 3D assets in the background.

Also I must confess, I am very new to animation in general. I probably made loads of mistakes looking at the final product now. The only prior experience I had was putting together cringy 3D animation within SFM. Plus I am not sure if the current quality of my work is original. As stated before, the concept of the Night Owl show is inspired by Space Ghost. Additionally the intro for Night Owl was heavily inspired by one of the Samurai Jack season 5 promos. I do plan to make more original set pieces in the future to further build up production value.

With the first video out I am glad to see generally positive thoughts along with constructive criticisms. The first video can be described as dull and bloated. I plan to alleviate those issues in future uploads.

Going forward I am probably going to make more mistakes when it comes to both animation and the quality of the content itself. But I am glad to be making Night Owl.

Perhaps you can find some enjoyment in these sort of vids, feel free to comment and review them. Even if you have a negative review Ill do my best to hear you out and try to improve.
